ABERDEEN
HIGHLAND PONY SHOW
The
growth of NESHPES has been emphasised with the birth and success of
its annual showing show since 1983. On invitation from Aberdeen council,
NESHPES was extremely lucky to secure the use of stunning venue, Duthie
Park in Aberdeen. The setting has created a unique show with a superb
atmosphere. Nobody could imagine then what the show would become with
over 100 entries taken for the first show. Going from strength to strength
the show now boasts one of the biggest entries of Highland ponies, surpassed
only by the Royal Highland Show.
Throughout the shows
aim has remained to create a premier competition which welcomes non
members and newcomers to the showing world.
Whether you are
a seasoned shower or just fancy giving it a go you will be made more
than welcome. Competitors are encouraged to follow the traditional routes
of the Highland and wear a touch of tartan when showing.
As will all Club
events spectators are most welcome. For further information please email
the club or phone Karen Stewart.

Aberdeen
Highland Pony Show 2007
This showcase event
again proved to be a fantastic day for all involved with the show, the
breed and the club - although maybe not for the club marquee!
Weren't we lucky
at Duthie Park this year! The weather was kind to us for once - apart
from the evil wind which saw the end of our lovely marquee! The ponies
looked their best and showing conditions were first class - everyone
has a part to play in making the day such a success.
Huge thanks must
go to all who exhibited and those who came along to spectate. It is
very gratifying to see so many people interested in the breed - without
you there would be no show! Special thanks must be given to the judges,
stewards, commentator, generous sponsors and those who worked behind
the scenes setting up the show. There is a great deal of unseen work
involved in the preparation of such a show.
Our gratitude must
also be extended to Aberdeen City Council for the use of Duthie Park
and to the Lord and Lady Provost who take a keen interest in the show.
Huge thanks must
again go to Karen, the show secretary, for her dedication and commitment
to the show.
Lets hope that the show continues to grow in popularity at this first
class venue.
